Little Sneaker

While I was grocery shopping tonight, Eric gave the boys their baths.  After Paxton got dressed he snuck away as he sometimes does.  Eric and Everett set out to find him.  "Paaxton, oh Paaxton, where are you???"  They found him downstairs at the table.  Sneaking more broccoli.  Seriously.

The other kid won't eat a bite of dinner.  Practically ever.  *sigh*

Bedtime Talk

Eric and Everett while going to bed tonight:

Eric: "You know I love you, right Everett?"
Everett: "And Dad, you know I like you too."

Haha!

Go God!

Sometimes when we put Pax to bed, Everett comes in and sings him a prayer, which starts off "O God, guide me..."  He stands against the wall and sways back and forth while he sings this.

Just now when I was putting him down for a nap, Pax leans against the wall, sways back and forth, and sings "Go God, go God, go God, goo gaa, etc...bye bye."  Haha!  He sang it twice, with bye-bye as the final line in both songs.  These kids are so entertaining.

A Visit From Aunt Kathi!

It's always a treat when we get to see Aunt Kathi!  We got to have some great fun in the snow together this time!  Sledding, snow lady making, snow ice cream, hooray!

Paxton at 22 months

It is so hard to believe that Pax will be 2 in two months.  Crazy!  I often look at Pax and remember that I had a 2 month old when Everett was this old and wonder how anything ever got done.

Pax is talking more lately but remains more physical than verbal.  He says things like juju (juice), nilk (milk), shewwww (shoe), hup! (up), and so much more - I don't want to bore you.  He jumps off of things, rides a balance bike, slides down the stairs, is amply proficient on the playground, loves to be swung around in a circle, thrown on pillows, etc.  These tricks are often preceded with him begging "do! do!"  His downfall will be his lack of fear.  He wants to do whatever Everett is doing, and it isn't always age appropriate.  He fearlessly and literally dives in.

He is getting closer to two years old, and his frustration and will is getting stronger as well.  Overall, they seem to be lower key than Everett's temper tantrums, but I shall not speak too soon as we are not fully there yet.  Circumstances are different as well with no new sibling taking attention or inexperienced parents!

Pax is an awesome snuggler, a fantastic eater, and cute as a button.  I am relishing these things before he pushes me away, becomes picky, and throws tantrums.  hah!

The boy loves my phone, and like most his age can work one nearly perfectly.

He also loves to vacuum.  He gets one spot really well over and over!

"Jumping" off the fireplace.  He didn't actually fall.

Everett at almost 3.5

Everett is potty trained!  Woohoo!  Winter was a great time to attack that one.

Right now I'm hearing him sing along with a song about the letter B.  His memory is fantastic and is starting to recite books he's heard over and over, can sing along with songs, and is starting to learn how to spell things.  He is very curious about spelling and letter sounds.

It is also so fun to see him really delve into a topic.  I got him a book recently about germs and how our body fights them from the magic schoolbus series.  We have read that book at least 50 times since we got it last week.  He can identify red blood cells, white blood cells, antibodies, and germs and has a rudimentary understanding of them!  I will definitely be getting more books from this series!  Amazing!

I already mentioned my two favorite words of his - "hamburgerger" and "speakeret" (secret).  He talks so much now I can barely remember when he couldn't.  His imagination runs wild, and he comes up with some pretty funny and inventive scenarios lately.  There are three other three year olds on this cul-de-sac, and it is amazing and hilarious to watch what they all come up with together.  These four friends are often found riding their bikes around the cul-de-sac together, screaming (usually) with glee, with Pax trailing behind them (and practically keeping up by now).

Here are some pictures from last week.

Everett wasn't really sad.  I told him to smile, and well, you know how three-year-olds are.  The neighbors' preschool calls them the defiant screamers, and that's pretty spot on. ;)

Ok, Ok, I'm back!

My mom and sister inform me that I haven't been blogging enough.  I'm sorry!  Life just got away from me with family-wide illnesses, a three year old that's trying to stop napping, and trying to find a house to live in by this summer!  Let's see if I can catch up on a few things...first, some cutenesses...

Kisses!  Kisses are so hard to elicit from the boys, but when they happen it is so sweet.  Pax kept making this hilarious kissy face for awhile as you can see below.

And what else is cute?  Their funny words of course!

Everett's funny words lately are "Hamburgerger" and "Speakeret" (secret) among others I can't remember right now.  I'm not correcting him.  It's only a matter of time before these cute words disappear!

Pax's words are coming more and more lately.  He likes to repeat the first sound of words and is getting better at communicating everyday.  He is very physical and has become proficient at things like riding his balance bike with big brother and friends, jumping off the couch (!), and general crazy shenanigans that make his mother nervous.  He also is great at going potty!  I had no intention of potty training him while working on that with Everett.  He just wants to do whatever Everett does, and has picked it up quite nicely.  I wouldn't say he is really training hard core or anything - he just asks to go, enjoys it, and is good at producing on demand!  I'll take it!  Ok, enough potty talk!

More posts and pictures to come I promise!
