Paxton Is One!

On June 16th, our little baby Paxton had his first birthday.  Grandma and Grandpa came down to celebrate with us (and babysit a few times while I went to a cooking class with friends and then Eric and I caught a movie for the first time in years).

We started Pax's birthday celebration with breakfast at Kerby Lane.  When it was time for smash cake, he barely wanted to touch it until I cut it up.  Once he took the first taste, he really dug in as you can see.  He got some really fun presents, which Everett promptly attempted to claim as his own.  They've been keeping them BOTH entertained, which is nice since lots of the toys are packed up.  I can't wait to see what fun they have when all the toys they haven't seen in months get unpacked!

Pax had his one year well-check recently, and is doing great.  He is 50th percentile in weight, and 75th percentile in height.  He started walking right around his birthday, and is starting to talk a little more.  His words include dada, mama, ed-ay (Everett, which coincidentally is how Ev said his name initially too), ah dah (all done), and once he said ma (more).  He is just starting to make new words -- I just don't know what they are yet!  And his favorite pastime?  Playing the kazoo.  It's hilarious and so cute.  :)

June

Whew!  June sure was a busy month.  We put our house on the market, took the beach trip mentioned in my last post, went to Eric's family reunion, saw my folks the same weekend as well as Lauren, Sarmad, and Sarmad's family, then it was Paxton's first birthday, and now we're in the middle of a farewell adventure week in Austin while Eric is off.  More posts to come to detail the birthday and our farewell adventures.

The boys were well fed at the family reunion.  Uncle Sean fed Paxton until he literally exploded.  I don't think he got to enjoy that part like I did.

There was lots of snuggle time and play time with the Great Aunts.

Then the next day, we got a bonus visit from Aunt Lauren, Uncle Sarmad, and Sarmad's parents!
Robert and Paxton had a mind meld going on.  They won't tell what they were melding over.

Galveston Trip in Pictures

"Beach!!!"  This was the boys' first beach trip.  Second upcoming next month.
Pax is a part-time walker.  I like how in this picture his wobbly toddly walk looks like he's rockin' and groovin'.

Aunt Kathi brought Roja, and it didn't take Everett long to fall in love...and vice versa it seemed as well.  Everett has said for the past few days that he misses Roja and "Kaffee".

Cheeks Keahey!

Paxton was happy as a clam getting dirty and holding seaweed.

Everett had so much fun with Aunt "Kaffee".  Sad to say it took a whole day to straighten out that her name was not Sean (Eric's brother).  Haha!
That's Ev's best bud Julian with Eric.  There was a lot of excitement at this point!  We were lucky enough to have friends with us for Ev's inaugural beach experience, which made it a thousand times more fun.  Pax was so excited he took a nap.
Exciting waves with Dad and Kathi.

You can see I got a bit of a haircut.  ;)  What can I say, I'm a mom.
